NEW DELHI : Delhiities will
no longer get caught in hospital red tape to procure blood. Detailed
information about the blood stock position, blood group, blood
components and the procedure of getting blood is now available on the
Internet.
A website linking the three regional blood
transfusion centres run by Delhi government was inaugurated by city
health minister A K Walia at GTB Hospital on Friday 17th Jan 2003.
The website www.bloodbanksdelhi.com
will connect GTB hospital, LNJP hospital and Deen Dayal Upadhyay
hospital.
Speaking
on the occasion, Walia said that blood transfusion is a life saving
measure required during emergency.
People
can also seek information regarding the organization of blood donation
and the national blood policy.
Walia said
there were eight regional blood transfusion centers in Delhi. Out of these
three are run by the government.
The
centers at All India Institute of medical Sciences (AIIMS), Armed Forces
Regional Blood Transfusion Center and Rotary Blood Bank will be linked
to the website by March 31. |

Health and Family Welfare Misiter, A. K. Walia, inaugurated a website
"www.bloodbanksdelhi.com"
of Delhi State Blood Transfusion Council at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital
here today.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Walia
announced that there are eight regional blood transfusion centers in
Delhi. Of these, three centers being run under Government of Delhi have
been connected with the website. Beside, the centers at All India
Institute of Medical Sciences, Armed Forces Regional Blood Transfusion
Centers and Rotary Blood Bank would be connected with the website by
March 31 this year.
