Dr. Bharat Singh is MBBS and MD (Pathology) form Delhi University. He is presently working as the Director of SBTC (State Blood Transfusion Council), Govt. of NCT, Delhi. He is Consultant Pathologist in Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital and University College of Medical Sciences, Shahdara, Delhi and the Officer In charge of Regional Blood transfusion Centre (East), GTB Hospital, Shahdara, Delhi. He has done advanced training in AIDS and Blood Transfusion Technology from Northern Ireland Blood Transfusion Service, Belfast, U.K.

  • WHO fellowship in Cryptology, Dept of Pathology, university of Connecticut Health Centre (UCON).
  • Award for the year 2002 for Services in the field of Health, Govt. of Delhi.

Other Achievements
  • Conducted Sentinel Surveillance for HIV infection in Antenatal Mothers at Indira Gandhi Hospital , Kavratti, Lakshdweep.

  • Conducted HIV Surveillance work at Kavratti, Lakshdweep as State AIDS Programme Officer, 1992-93..

  • Prepared the work plan for providing STD care in Lakshadweep July, 1993-94. Submitted to National AIDS Control Organization, Govt. of India, New Delhi.

  • Prepared Protocol for sentinel Surveillance at Lakshadweep approved by NACO, 1993.

  • Organization of HIV awareness workshop in different Islands of U.T. of Lakshadweep to create awareness about AIDS and deminates fear in handling AIDS/HIV sero-positive patients for various categories of people, Doctors, nurses, laboratory Personnels, school Teachers, Students, General public.

  • Co-investigator for proposed NACO Research Project "Development and Augmentation of Voluntary Blood Donor base in East Delhi" submitted to NACO. New Delhi, April, 1995.
